Leo Kinnunen, né le 5 août 1943 à Tampere, a un palmarès F1 des plus maigres.

Son palmarès, il le doit surtout aux courses d'Endurance et notamment en 1970, alors associé à Pedro Rodriguez, il remporte les 24 heures de Daytona, les 1000 km de Monza et de Brands Hatch sur Porsche 917.

Ce n'est qu'en 1974 qu'il accède à la Formule 1, au sein de l'écurie Surtees.

Il ne réussi qu'à qualifier sa TS16 qu'au Grand Prix de Suède, GP dans lequel il abandonna.

Ses 5 autres participations se soldèrent par des non-qualifications et l'aventure F1 du Finlandais pris logiquement fin rapidement.
